\u{1F4CF} Measuring & Layout

Tape measures, levels, and squares.

Measuring and layout tools turn a plan into marks and checks on the material. Tape measures set length, levels verify flat and plumb, squares and gauges lay out true lines and right angles. They prevent mistakes before a cut is ever made.

Tape Measure A flexible metal tape with markings for measuring length, with a locking blade and end hook. Spirit Level A housing with bubble vials that verifies surfaces are level (horizontal), plumb (vertical), or at a set angle. Calipers A precision instrument that measures inside and outside dimensions to fine accuracy, in analog or digital. Marking Knife A knife with a sharp point or blade used to scribe precise layout lines on wood and material. Protractor / Angle Gauge A tool for measuring and laying out angles, from fixed squares to adjustable bevel gauges.
